Fascinating. I found the raw power of the novel - "The British, they never stop coming" - to be pretty gut wrenching. And it stands well as a description of British imperialism.
So true. I almost feel guilty criticizing pieces of the book because other parts are so, so good. Plus, it’s harder to find books about colonialism from an African perspective (in the US anyway), so I feel like I should cherish this a bit more.
True. The U.S. is blind to colonialism. And I think there are an alarming number of places where this book would be banned from school libraries and curricula. A great article.❤️
