This was fascinating! I agree it’s boring. We bought the “unicorns vs llamas” edition, which our daughter loved (and we somehow FaceTimed grandma in during Covid so she could play, too.)
What a great history lesson. I never liked playing Monopoly because my middle sister always won and ended with a "Haha, I won." That said, it's a great way for kids to learn about real estate.
The kids will remember the snow days and board games...love it! And no reason to waste good down time cleaning that closet...

Have you tried Forbidden Island? I'm not a game person AT ALL, but I actually enjoy that one. It's a fun cooperative game.

It still serves as a better introduction to capitalist economics for kids than most documentaries.
Playing games is always the best was to learn! I love how Parker Bros initially thought the game was “too hard”
